i've liked the juliana theory for a while now, but didn't know how they'd be in concert. a friend of mine convined me to drive us all the way to boone to see them on a random thursday night. we arrived early and realized that boone has strange drinking laws. apparently you can take beer with you and drink inside the venue, but nothing else. no drinking outside, either. inside only. knowing we were going to be early, we decided, before knowing about the strange laws, to stop by the ABC store and purchase some bad vodka to kill some time. a couple horrible screwdrivers and an incident with the police later, the show begain. it was very good. the music translated to a live audience well and the many sing-along parts had even the tough kids singing along. i still favor their older material to the newer, but their live show was alot of fun, and certainly worth the drive. too bad they just broke up.
